MLS: CF Montreal hosts NYC on Sunday in the Eastern Conference semi-finals

Three goals in the second half helped the New York City side beat Inter Miami 3-0 in Monday’s MLS game.

This victory allows New York City, third in the Eastern rankings during the regular season, to set up a date with CF Montreal in the second round.

The Federation semi-final duel between New York City and Montreal will be presented on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. at Saputo Stadium.

Gabriel Pereira, in the 63rd minute of play, Maximiliano Morales, six minutes later, and Heber before the final whistle, scored the goals of the squad led by Nick Cushing.

The last game in the career of Inter Miami striker Gonzalo Higuain, who announced his retirement a few weeks ago.

This duel was originally scheduled for the Red Bull Arena in Harrison, New Jersey. However, Citi Field became available when the New York Mets were eliminated by the San Diego Padres.

Pan-Texas Duel in the West

In the other MLS playoff game on Monday, we took penalty shootouts for the second day in a row, this time between Minnesota United and FC Dallas.

Dallas had the upper hand by showing himself perfectly in five shots on goal, and so would take Austin’s direction to take on their Texas neighbors, who finished the regular season second in the West.

On Sunday, Austin secured his qualification in a dramatic fashion by defeating Real Salt Lake in the playoff.
