The victory in Montreal for Red Bull driver Max Verstappen is even more impressive when you consider that he competed in the majority of the Canadian Grand Prix with the carcass of a bird stuck under his car.
On Sunday, the leader of the Formula 1 drivers’ championship beat the poor bird on 11 of the 70 laps of the race. He pointed this out to his team.

However, the bird’s body still got stuck in the right brake duct of Verstappen’s single seat and remained there until the end of hostilities at the Gilles-Villeneuve circuit.
Red Bull team principal Christian Horner highlighted his driver’s ability to handle any situation when asked about the incident involving a four-legged vertebrate.
“It was a race where he was really in control,” he said.
Nor is it the first time Verstappen has crashed into an animal in his F1 car. At the Italian Grand Prix in 2021, he put an end to his squirrel days. This time, the Dutchman finished second in the race.
