Gal Gadot would have made a phenomenal Barbie, according to Margot Robbie.

In an interview with Vogue, the one who produced the movie and played the main Barbie there revealed that she wanted to entrust the role of one of the Barbies to the Wonder Woman star. Unfortunately, Gal Gadot was not available at the time.
The Australian actress portrays the character Barbie, alongside Dua Lipa, Kate McKinnon, Essa Ray and Harry Nef in variations of the iconic Mattel fashion doll. She enthusiastically described her reasons for choosing Gal Gadot: “Gal Gadot is the energy of Barbie. Gal Gadot is incredibly beautiful, but you don’t hate her because she’s so honest and so sweetly passionate that she’s almost cliche, bordering on nonchi,” she explains humorously.

The invitation did not go unnoticed by the main interested party. Gal Gadot responded by posting a screenshot of an article about Margot Robbie’s Instagram comments. She indicated her willingness to appear in future Barbie films. “I’m on the next one, sister!” I wrote I can’t wait to see it.
For Kane’s part, Ryan Gosling plays the role alongside Margot Robbie, while Kingsley Ben-Adir, Simo Liu, Nkoti Gatua and John Cena play variations of the male mannequin doll.
Barbie, directed by Greta Gerwig from a screenplay by Gerwig and Noah Baumbach, hits theaters July 19.
