To highlight the attack on Capitol Hill by a mob of Trump supporters, on January 6, 2021, the House of Representatives formed a commission of inquiry. Only two Republicans are participating in this committee, including Liz Cheney, who revealed on Sunday, January 2, that she had important testimony about President Donald Trump’s behavior that day.
According to Liz Cheney, the investigative committee will have evidence that Ivanka Trump, the former president’s daughter and advisor, asked her father to intervene during the attack on Capitol Hill. But Donald Trump continued to watch the action live on TV in his living room.

So far, the investigation committee has interviewed about 300 people. The problem is that many close to the former president refuse to cooperate. A first report is expected next summer. And time is against the committee: If the Republicans regain control of the House of Representatives during the midterm elections next November, they will undoubtedly put an end to this work.
