Immigration: I hope yesterday's insult finally apologizes

Immigration: I hope yesterday's insult finally apologizes

I admit that the necessary debate on immigration inspires me with a mixture of joy and discomfort.

Joy First: This discussion is essential.

Mass migration is destabilizing our society – and Western societies in general.

It puts untenable pressure on social services, schools and the health system, in addition to creating a housing crisis. Mass migration impoverishes us.

And this is without mentioning the fact that it contributes to the demographic minority of Quebec's historic French-speaking majority.

And this is without mentioning the fact that it represents, in our specific case, a tool for the Canadian regime to place a demographic lock on Quebec's political future. It's time to have this discussion, and it's time for us to talk frankly.

Then discomfort. Many of those who open their eyes at this moment have allowed themselves for years to insult those who spoke about immigration.

Today, they are very clear, but just a few months ago, they only had one word on their lips: racism! In a pinch, they can also say “intolerant,” “xenophobic,” or “closed.”

Today, they want us to forget their fanaticism of yesterday, and their blindness as well.

We can guess their answer: circumstances force us to. This is the situation that was going to develop.

Unfortunate turnover. They should apologise.

Lesson

We must collectively learn a lesson from this: those who profess an ethic of diversity want us to forget that they led us to disaster.

Having said that, we shouldn't be bad players: as long as these last-minute advocates of immigration clarity mend their ways, or get rid of their insults for good, our society would do well to get its head out of the sand.

It is a shame that we have to go to the edge of the abyss to realize this.
