Ho Chi Minh City and RMIT strengthen their cooperation

Duong Anh Duc, Vice President of Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, on Tuesday 6 June, Professor Claire Macken, Director General of Australia’s Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT), visited the city.

Duong Anh Duc congratulated RMIT Vietnam on its success as a reliable address for training the city’s high-quality intellectual human resources. He said the city is ready to work with RMIT to develop cooperative programs and expand its operations in RMIT Vietnam.

He thanked RMIT Vietnam for implementing education and training programs and carrying out many social activities, especially during the Covid-19 period. Ho Chi Minh City has always supported and created favorable conditions for RMIT Vietnam to continue its development, actively contributing to the training of human resources for Ho Chi Minh City in particular and Vietnam in general.

For her part, Claire Macken said the Australia-Vietnam bilateral cooperative relationship was bearing fruit and was an important basis and foundation for developing relations between RMIT and Vietnam, including Ho Chi Minh City.

On the occasion of the Australian Prime Minister’s recent visit to Vietnam, Claire Macken clarified that RMIT announced a AUD 250 million investment plan to expand education, research, collaboration and RMIT Vietnam’s investments.

RMIT wants Ho Chi Minh City to facilitate the establishment of the RMIT Vietnam Business Linkage and Innovation Center and provide assistance to make RMIT Vietnam the city’s leading high-quality human resource training institution.
