Hershey warns of a shortage of Halloween candy

Hershey’s, one of the biggest candy companies, has warned that there could be a chocolate shortage this Halloween.

As a result, smaller monsters are likely to see fewer Peanut Butter Cups from Reese, Twizzlers, and Jolly Ranchers while harvesting candy.

Company CEO Michael Buck said on a conference call revealing the findings that due to supply chain challenges, the company will struggle to meet demand.

Elle a ajouté que «les pressions particulières en Allemagne, qui fait face à une crise énergétique alors que la Russie réduit l’approvisionnement en gaz et que l’UE vise à restreindre les importations d’énergie de probl’è, sont contracting.”

Since daily and holiday treats are produced through the same product line, the company chose to focus on the former category.

“We had the opportunity to make more Halloween candy, but we couldn’t deliver that. And we were already producing,” Buck told the BBC.

Hershey’s net sales rose more than 19% to $2.37 billion in the fourth quarter, topping analysts’ estimates of $2.22 billion, according to IBES data from Refinitiv.
