Gary Bettman gives him the right to return to the NHL

A few weeks ago, Corey Perry was all over the NHL news. The forward has left the Blackhawks entourage for mysterious reasons, and although there has been wild speculation, it has never really been clear what the real reason for his departure was.

On the one hand, general manager Kyle Davidson said the decision was a team decision, while Perry's agent called it a personal decision by the player. It became difficult to see clearly.

However, in the following days, we got a bit of clarity: The Blackhawks had completely terminated Perry's contract, and as we listened to Davidson speak, we sensed that the reasons were serious.

There appears to be talk of an “Ime Udoka” incident involving someone who works for the Blackhawks.

Since then, we've been wondering what's going on… And now according to Elliott Friedman, Perry met with Gary Bettman yesterday and the latter gave him permission to return to the game.

It will be remembered that in Black Hawk's eyes, Perry's action (or actions) were completely unacceptable (or unacceptable). The details were still vague, but Davidson was clear about one thing: the Blackhawks wouldn't accept What happened.

However, Bettman believes Perry is now ready to return to the game, and we don't know if everything has necessarily been resolved, but the commissioner seems comfortable letting the veteran return.

He (almost certainly) won't be in Chicago, anyway, even if injuries destroy the club.

The question now is whether any team will dare to get their hands on this. Perry likely has some good hockey to offer for an aspiring team, but one thing is certain: If he's signed, the team that signs him will have to answer a question… Tons Of questions.

Without comparing the two moves, look at what happened in Boston last year when the club tried to sign Mitchell Miller. It didn't work out that simple.

So we'll see if Perry finds work again, it'll be interesting to follow. I'm really looking forward to seeing if any team raises their hand.

For those who still dream of seeing him return to Montreal, I would have a hard time seeing such a scenario right now: CH doesn't really need the bad press.

I could be wrong…but I'm very confident about this.

Remember, if Perry wants to be able to participate in the playoffs, he must sign a contract by March 8. Otherwise, he will only be able to play during the remainder of the regular season.
