Financial Debt: Three men kidnap the wrong person

Three men, including two brothers, allegedly kidnapped a person and threatened to kill him after realizing they had kidnapped the wrong person.

On Friday, October 13, in Florida, in the United States, Jeffrey Arista, Jonathan Arista, and Raymond Gomez forcibly kidnapped the victim outside his apartment, according to the Attorney General’s Office.

WTVJ-TV reported that one of the defendants forced the victim into a white Dodge Charger while wearing a police uniform.

Upon arriving at the Airbnb, the men allegedly removed the mask from their victim only to realize they had kidnapped the wrong person.

According to WTVJ, the trio intended to kidnap the victim’s co-worker.

The kidnappers allegedly took the man to the bathroom and then covered his face before starting to torture him with water.

They also threatened his life, pointing guns and an electric drill at him, the prosecutor’s office said.

The three men then set off to kidnap the right person. According to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, they forced the victim to enter the establishment where their target worked in order to lure him out.

However, once inside, the victim contacted law enforcement, who then arrested the suspected kidnappers.

Mr. Gomez told investigators that he and the Arista brothers were taking orders from someone else, and that they had tried to seize a man who owed a financial debt to his employer.

The three suspects face a maximum penalty of life imprisonment if convicted.
