Announced about two weeks ago, Rockstar Games and Netflix have honored their first partnership with the release of GTA The Trilogy: The Definitive Edition on mobile (iOS and Android) through the Netflix Games platform.
Available since Thursday evening, players around the world can once again discover or rediscover the adventures of Claude Speed in Liberty City in GTA III, or the adventures of Tommy Vercetti in GTA Vice City and Carl “CJ” Johnson in GTA San Andreas.

GTA The Trilogy: How to play it for free?
To access all three games for free (or at least without additional costs) (unlimited access), all you need is a Netflix account. If so, go to your smartphone or tablet store (Apple Store/Google Store) and simply search for “GTA Netflix”. Thus, all three games will be available for free.
All you have to do is install it, then run it. Once done, a small window will appear asking you to sign in with your Netflix account. When this is done, it will be possible to play GTA III, Vice City and San Andreas at no additional cost and without time restrictions.
I don’t have Netflix, can I play games?
If you’re in a situation where you’re not a Netflix subscriber or your subscription has expired, there is a solution. In fact, all three games are available for purchase individually. You’ll then have to pay €19.99 for each title, or approximately €59.97 for the three games. Once in your possession, they will be yours indefinitely and will also be playable without time restrictions.
What devices are compatible with GTA The Trilogy The Definitive Edition?
Currently, this GTA trilogy is compatible with Android 8 or later and iOS 16 or later. So, on iPhone, you’ll need to update to iOS 16.0 or later as well as the A12 Bionic chip or later available in the iPhone XS. On iPad, this also requires an update to iPadOS 16.0 or later, as well as the A12 Bionic chip or later available in the 11-inch iPad Pro, iPad Air 4th Gen, and iPad 8th Gen.
How much do mobile games weigh?
For Grand Theft Auto III, you will need a single 1.73GB download which will allow you to play and access the entire game, its missions and audio content.

Overall, the transfer is very successful. Numerous bugs that were present when the remaster was released in November 2021 on PC and consoles have disappeared. Naturally, the quality isn’t up to the level of the PS5, Xbox Series But for the mobile versions, the presentation is fairly clean and you quickly get involved in the game. The main shortcomings come from the viewing distance, which is not well managed, and then from the “blur” filter that is installed on the screen at the high speeds expected in a car or motorcycle.
Compatible controllers?
Of course, it is possible to play GTA The Trilogy: The Definitive Edition via the touch keys that are presented when you first launch the game (with many possible configurations). But you can also connect an Xbox or PS5 controller and mount your smartphone on suitable portable controllers (such as the Spine) for a better gaming experience.
