CargoM launches warehouse space tool | Information trend

CargoM – The Montreal Metropolitan Logistics and Transport Cluster, an organization that brings together players in logistics and freight transport in Greater Montreal, is launching an enhanced version, with a web interface, of its Warehousing Space tool.

This tool, which was initially created at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, aims to provide assistance to companies in the transportation and logistics sector due to their significant storage needs during this period. The organization explains that since the pandemic, the supply chain has seen some disruptions and issues related to warehouse space remain important and current. Because users are so interested in this tool, CargoM wants to sustain it while improving it so that it becomes easier to use and more accessible.

“With the aim of supporting our members as well as our sector, we offer them a free storage space tool,” notes Matthieu Charbonneau, Managing Director of CargoM, in a press release. “As a registry, it will allow businesses to advertise the rental of their excess space and for those searching for it, see the control panel of our web interface in order to find, according to their search criteria, available indoor and outdoor spaces. The registry was first developed for Greater Montreal, and also lists spaces “Elsewhere in Quebec and the rest of Canada. We are confident that this tool will have positive repercussions and will contribute to making our supply chain more efficient.”

To create this new version of its tool, CargoM obtained funding thanks to the Program to Support the Development of Strategic Sectors and Ports of Excellence (PADS) through the Ministry of Economy, Innovation and Energy (MEIE). The project was implemented by Mely.ai Solutions, a company that accelerates supply chain digitization. Furthermore, CargoM activities are financially supported by the Community of Metropolitan Montreal (CMM), by the Government of Quebec and all its members.
