Utica, New York – Anthony Richard scored his second goal of the game in overtime as Laval’s Rocket beat Utica Comets 5-4 on Friday.
Richard initially gave the Rocket (3-6-3) a 2-0 lead in the first half, but he put his team in trouble by picking up a second-half penalty followed by a 10-minute penalty for mistreating the referees. . The Comets led 4-3 in that streak.
However, his goal, one minute before the end of extra time, allowed the missile to escape with victory, and Richard scored his eighth goal – and the twelfth point – in 12 matches.
Gabriel Burke, Danic Martel and Xavier Simono also scored the goal for Laval.
Rem Pitlick made a successful comeback with Rocket after being ceded to him by the Montreal Canadiens. The winger finished the match with two passes, as did defender Justin Barron.
Kevin Boleyn held 30 rounds in the win.
Zach Cinchen, Samuel Laberge, Andreas Johnson and Brian Benio scored for comets (3-4-2). Isaac Poulter saved 30 balls.
The Rocket started a three-game streak in several days down the road. Jean-Francois Hall’s squad will resume the collar on Saturday against the Phantom of Lehigh and then on Sunday against the Hershey Bears.
