Motorists will have to be patient to take one of the river crossings in the Quebec region. Quebec’s Department of Transportation and Sustainable Mobility will be carrying out major work there for the vast majority of the summer.
The ramps leading from Autoroute Henri-IV to Boulevard Champlain and from Boulevard Champlain to Autoroute Henri-IV south will be closed from June 27 to August 10 inclusively.
According to the MTQ, it is necessary to rebuild the Boulevard Champlain airway so that these obstructions are in effect over the holidays.
“This intervention was planned for the project to redevelop the junctions north of the Pierre-Laporte-Quebec Bridge,” spokeswoman Emilie Lord explains in a press release.

These major drawbacks will force users to take several detours to move around the Strip, especially for those who want to go to Avenue Champlain from the Henri-IV Highway.

According to the route proposed by the MTQ, they would have to cross the Pierre-Laporte bridge and detour by taking the Route des Rivières in Lévis, about five kilometers further. They will have to use the car link again to get to the exit to the street.
The Department of Transportation is therefore asking motorists to “choose an alternative route for their trips” to avoid work zones.
