A 39-year-old Scottish woman, who is trying in vain to get rid of the squirrels that are giving her a hard time, no longer knows how to catch the scale insects that have been feeding in her cupboards for three years.
“I never would have imagined that squirrels could do all this to a house. It’s amazing what they can do. I’ve tried everything, but nothing works. I’m terrified of them,” Michelle Collins, 39, told the BBC on Tuesday.
Every morning, the 30-year-old from Ayrshire, Scotland, dreads seeing the state of her kitchen, which has become a playground for many gray squirrels during the night.
The latter manages to dig a hole under his balcony and sneak inside his house through the walls to attack the safes.
To get to the dog’s food, which is left far away in the cupboard, even ferrets chew through the door.
But despite her best efforts, and the efforts of the exterminator, she was unable to stop the problem.
For Scottish exterminator Scott McIntyre, the 30-year-old’s home is far from the only home suffering from these rodents, which can indeed cause “nightmare damage” to a property.
“The worst I’ve ever seen was a woman in Fife who chewed all the electrical wires out. She had to rewire her whole house. The damage cost £30,000.” [plus de 50 000 $ canadiens]”, Locate.
