People have already started since Monday [à magasiner]. I wandered around 2-3 retailers yesterday and it was really crazy since Monday when people came into stores asking if they could get discounts right away,” explains Philip Richard Bertrand, Co-Founder and Partner at Amplifio Stratégies.
Mr. Bertrand still expects there will be record sales because people fear stocks will be tight by Christmas.
There is already a shortage of items. Yesterday I went [magasiner] For skates there are many sizes that are no longer available. We’re talking 35%, 40%, 50% discounts in some cases, so it’s really worth it.”
According to Philip Richard Bertrand, it is online shopping that will be especially popular.
“Today, buying online is easy, and there are a variety of Quebec retailers out there online,” he explains, specifying that 80% of buyers will shop online today.
However, expect the stores to be crowded.
Evidence that the day is likely to be crowded, from midnight to 11:30 a.m., 3.6 million transactions took place in the country, according to Moneris.
