When Superman meets Arya Stark and Bugs Bunny

To everyone’s surprise, Warner Bros. has just announced its free game, MultiVersus. Or not actually, because it has already been several weeks since the project Largely leaked on the Internet, but that shouldn’t stop us from indulging in this game which is very close to what Super Smash Bros.

Arya Stark vs Batman

While some companies have gradually moved away from video games, such as Disney Interactive, giants such as Warner Bros Games are trying to establish themselves, taking advantage of their huge catalog of licenses. And while we’ve known for a while that the publisher was about to release a crossover of several of its universes, the project has finally gone official with MultiVersus.

This is presented in the form of a service game, to understand that free game in which it will be possible to purchase content, while there are events and update regularly, in order to maintain the player’s interest. Currently, Warner Bros. has not specified how to offer the purchasable content, but we can undoubtedly provide some form of seasonal pass to access fighters or cosmetic items.

Like the Smash Bros. clone, MultiVersus is offered as an arena fighting game, with 1-on-1 or 2-on-2, as well as “beggar” clashes with four players. We can find universe-inspired arenas like Batman’s Batcave or even Jake and Finn’s Tree House from Adventure Time. The first list of characters available was released at launch, but others must of course be added later. Each hero has his own abilities, which can work in pairs with another character.

MultiVersus will be a cross game and will be available on almost all media for release in 2022, which includes Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One as well as Steam. Warner Bros. promises dedicated servers, as well as leaderboards and guilds, to foster a community spirit around the game.
