Winner of the Silver Medal in Capellier of the Academy of Arts, Sciences and Letters

Ebola painter Kathleen Pelletier, who signs her work under the name Capellier, was awarded the Silver Medal from the Academy of Arts, Sciences and Letters (ASL) in Paris, France on October 14.

This high distinction highlights the artist’s 43-year career. The ASL Academic Institute aims to recognize and promote people who, through their talents and work, contribute to the influence of (French) culture in the artistic, literary and scientific fields.

“This passion has won the admiration of many art connoisseurs and buyers. Thousands of paintings created by him in his Charlevoix workshop are today on the walls of thousands of people, all over the world, but of course, especially here in Quebec,” rejoices the artist’s entourage in a continuous message.

Kapelier is known for its strong colours, especially in the landscape of Charlevoix. As contemporary, it covers realism, symbolism, floral, fantastical and mystical. Through her numerous exhibitions abroad, she promoted Charlevoix and Quebec.

Although many paintings were sold in galleries, the vast majority were sold in his workshop on the Rue du Fleuve, in Les Hépoulements. “The artist and woman is always an acknowledgment of this special moment: the painting that leaves,” the press release tells us.
