US presidential elections Robert Kennedy Jr. reveals the name of his running mate

(Oakland) – The independent candidate for the US elections scheduled for next November, Robert Kennedy Jr., nephew of the assassinated President John F. Kennedy, revealed on Tuesday the name of his candidate for vice president, lawyer and philanthropist Nicole Shanahan.

“I'm grateful to Nicole for that […] “You have made the very difficult decision to embark with me on this extraordinary crusade to reclaim our country,” the sixty-year-old declared.

Robert Kennedy Jr. is the son of former Democratic Attorney General and presidential candidate Robert “Bobby” Kennedy, who was assassinated in 1968, but also the nephew of President John Fitzgerald Kennedy, who was assassinated five years earlier.

He wants to present himself as an alternative to the candidacies of Joe Biden and Donald Trump. He is a lawyer who specializes in environmental issues and is known for spreading conspiracy theories, especially regarding vaccines.

At a campaign rally in Oakland, California, on Tuesday, Robert Kennedy Jr. sang the praises of Nicole Shanahan, a “young surf fan” with a “strong spiritual dimension.”

She was married to Sergey Brin, co-founder of Google.

Robert Kennedy Jr. first declared himself a presidential candidate in April 2023, under the Democratic Party banner, which would have seen him face President Biden in the primaries.

He then changed his designation, allowing the independent candidate to find himself on the ballot alongside Democratic and Republican contenders Joe Biden and Donald Trump.

Thus, Robert Kennedy Jr. was able to extract valuable votes from candidates of both parties, with most elections held in deadlock.

Many of his relatives denounced his decision to run and went to the White House in mid-March to attend an event with Democratic President Joe Biden.
