Studying the soil to prepare a future forest garden

The process of developing the Bonnier space returned to the municipal council table during the back-to-school meeting, this time with a new area of 11,000 square meters to be developed. This is the Pisenay land, acquired by the city council last year, and located behind the walls of Paul Bert Street (which will be demolished).

Cost of preliminary studies: 17,123.81 euros including tax for the entire site

On this former industrial site, it is planned to create a small urban park with the previously announced announcement of planting a small forest here consisting of a thousand trees. Rainwater detention and collection works are also planned. With dual project management skills (City Hall Development, Metropolis Sanitation) requiring conference approval (opposition elected officials abstaining from voting).

“To implement this project, it is necessary to conduct preliminary soil studies,” said Hubert Bort, deputy head of the project.

Let us remember that after the demolition of the former Dennis site (industrial boiler plants), the soil was stripped and cleared by the landowner (the Dervo Company at that time).

Today it is a matter of making a careful inventory of the buildings in order to determine what can be achieved next on this land (children’s play park, type of trees to be planted depending on the soil, landscape retention…)

The cost of these preliminary studies amounts to €17,123.81 including tax for the entire site, divided into €9,248.93 for the municipality and €7,874.88 for Metropole.
