London firefighters were mobilized on Sunday 24 July to battle three wildfires linked to high temperatures and winds around the British capital. A fourth is raging in nearby Surrey, just days after the heat record was broken in England.

“London firefighters deal with multiple weather-related blazes”, the London Fire Brigade tweeted that between midnight and 5pm, firefighters carried out more interventions than the usual 24 hours. Temperatures reached 29 degrees Celsius in southeast England on Sunday.
