On October 28, speaker Jacques Larry will present the conference “Audubon’s Voyage to the Shores of St. Lawrence in the Summer of 1833” face to face in Rimouski at the University of Quebec at Rimouski in room F-219 also as on Zoom stand from 1:30 p.m.
The presentation will focus on the ornithologist John James Audubon who traveled between 1826 and 1839 between America and Europe to publish his life’s work The Birds of America. However, there were no northern birds in his wallet. In the summer of 1833 he consequently made a three-month expedition from Natashquan to Blanc-Sablon through the Magdalen Islands.
The speaker will present key events in Audubon’s life, his scientific and artistic contribution to the knowledge of North American birds, the context of his voyage along the shores of the Gulf of St. Lawrence as well as the species of birds he met and painted there.
This activity is for people over the age of 50 in eastern Quebec. Registration is required at [email protected] Or at (1-800) 511-3382 ext. 1661. For more information, simply go to the website: https://adauqar.ca/.
