Our dog’s health is at your fingertips

Have you ever wondered how your dog is doing? It will now be possible to access an assessment of your physical and mental health at your fingertips thanks to Queva.

“It’s a support tool that we want to create so that dog owners can monitor their animals’ health as well as their activity,” says Jacob Thibaut-Calderon, president of Queva. “It’s to prevent certain problems in dogs, both behaviorally and physically.”

If your dog becomes anxious, for example, the tool will be able to detect it by monitoring his activities and will allow you to act more quickly to help him.

“Our goal is to detect symptoms of potential problems in the animal, and then provide support to the owner,” explains Mr. Thibaut-Calderon. “If we spot a potential problem, we give the owner the tools to come in and figure out what they can improve.”

It wasn’t just the company’s president who wanted to develop a tool like this. When Martin Godbout was practicing, the vet-turned-director of veterinary medicine at Queva, wished he had access to a tool like this to follow up with his clients.

“As soon as there is something different from what he has always done in his behavior or in his actions, in his movements, we can immediately hear a clue in our ears, to say: something is happening,” he explains. “It allows us to ask customers the right questions.”

The technology used to create this smart collar was entirely developed by Queva, which explains why this collar retails for $129.

The product will be delivered and ready for use by April 2024, and until then interested parties can pre-order it on the Queva website.

“We created our own supply chain,” says Mr. Thibaut-Calderon. “No matter what demand we have, we are fully prepared to supply.”
