New security options coming to Google Chrome

Google takes over its password management and adds several features such as a PC fingerprint sensor or a new user interface.

Google announced on June 8th Five new security options for the Chrome search engine. Starting with the password manager, it will be possible to authenticate by facial recognition or with your fingerprint on your PC or Mac. This feature was previously only available on mobile. However, you will need a computer that has a fingerprint sensor or that supports facial recognition.

The password manager interface has been redesigned to make it easier to access and change passwords. The shortcut will be available directly on your computer desktop. The home page will make it easy to see the passwords used for each account. Also, it will be possible to add notes to your password information such as PINs, credentials, tags to help you keep track of multiple accounts, etc.

Google wants to compete with private password managers

Password parsing will be possible, and Google will notify you of weak and reused combinations. Finally, it will be possible to download all words saved on another manager to transfer them to Chrome from a CSV file. Chrome Manager is not recommended if you are looking for a high level of cyber security and hackers target it regularly. Password Manager is currently available in Chrome Settings, and the features listed in the article will be rolled out soon.
