Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez lead Miami to the quarter-finals of the European Champions Cup

Stars Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez helped Inter Miami advance to the quarterfinals of the CONCACAF Champions Cup with a 3-1 win over Nashville at Chase Stadium on Wednesday.

Despite leaving the field prematurely due to a leg injury, Messi was the difference for Suarez in the second leg, which secured a 5-3 aggregate victory. The two teams tied 2-2 in the first leg at Giudice Park.

The legends' imprint appeared from the beginning, when Messi assisted Suarez's goal in the eighth minute. Messi's preparations paved the way for Suarez, who took advantage of a large space in the goal protected by Joe Willis.

Martino said that the Argentine star will likely miss his team's regular season match on Saturday against DC United.

“I don't want to take any risks,” Martino said. He added that Messi will undergo medical examinations and the team will evaluate the condition after that.
