Joël Teasdale scored his second and third goals of the season, Nicholas Bowden scored three points, and the Laval Rocket beat the Cleveland Monsters 4-1 on Sunday afternoon.
It was the Laval Residents’ first win in regulation time in four meetings against the Beasts so far this season.
Joe Vrbetic was automatically in front of the Canadiens school club net. The latter stopped 26 of 27 shots on goal by his opponents.
Rocket captain Alex Pelzel battled the game against forward Brandon Jones and added an assist.
Gabriel Burke, Jesse Ylonen, Justin Baron, Peter Appandonato and Brandon Gignac all provided the assists for the win.
Already leading by two goals after a stellar second period punctuated by Tisdale’s second of the game and Lucas Condota’s eighth of the season, the Rocket saw Bowden further widen the gap that separates them from the Monsters.
The Quebec defender acquired this fall from the Chicago Blackhawks is doing fine these days, with nine points in his last game.
Laval now has a record of 10-14-3-1, while Cleveland is 12-9-2-1.
Jean-Francois Holley’s squad will stay on the road to duel against the Syracuse Crisis on Wednesday.
The Necklace will then resume on December 23 at the Place Bell for its last match before Christmas. The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins will be there.
