Right now, Juraj Slavkovski is making headlines for all the right reasons.
His progress on the ice is notable and we see why the Canadian decided to select him with the first overall pick in the 2022 draft.
The young man is gaining experience and we can see that in his confidence on the ice. He's making the right decisions, which hasn't always happened since his National League debut.
We often wonder what his offensive ceiling is and it's nearly impossible to determine because he only has 76 big-league plate appearances.
But Pierre McGuire has seen enough to believe that Slav has the potential to become a scorer with an average of 30 to 35 goals per year. He also sees him rack up 65 to 75 points per season, as he told the Sick Podcast:

I love the quote from Pierre McGuire.
The further things go, the more positive comments we will hear about the young Canadian player. It simply means that he does things the right way.
But I wonder if Slav really has what it takes to be a 35-goal-per-season scorer. In the last few games, I've especially found that he's been trying to find his teammates more than anything else on the ice. That's not a criticism – quite the opposite – but he will need to hit the net more if he wants to improve his scoring skills.
However, I think we can all agree on the fact that if Slav actually gets to score 35 goals per season, the Canadian will have solved one of his big problems.
Offensive players of this caliber are somewhat rare in Montreal and we know Caufield is a scorer, but he has needed help in that area since the start of the season.
However, there is one thing we can say at this time. Juraj Slavkovski is heading in the right direction, and it's nice to see how far he has progressed this season.
