From Australia to Quebec, a referee lives his pee-wee tournament dream

Jeffrey Scott had always wanted to play in the Quebec Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament, but in 1980, his team didn't get the chance. Forty-four years later, this adopted Australian decided to cross the planet to live his dream for the second year in a row and it was an arbiter.

Born in Ontario, Geoffrey Scott has a special connection to the Quebec tournament. In 1950, the first pee-wee hockey tournament in Canada was held in his hometown of Goderich.

For the first nine years of the competition, Quebec sent a team to Goderich. This inspired the most prestigious pee-wee tournament in the world todayHe says.

Referee in the land of kangaroos

A graduate of the University of Waterloo, Scott has worked for an insurance company in Sydney for about 30 years. Despite Australia having thirty arenas and only a few thousand hockey players of all ages, the Ontarians did not stop refereeing.
