Jeffrey Scott had always wanted to play in the Quebec Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament, but in 1980, his team didn't get the chance. Forty-four years later, this adopted Australian decided to cross the planet to live his dream for the second year in a row and it was an arbiter.
I wanted to compete, and since I'm still a judge, I thought this was the best way to get here.

Born in Ontario, Geoffrey Scott has a special connection to the Quebec tournament. In 1950, the first pee-wee hockey tournament in Canada was held in his hometown of Goderich.
For the first nine years of the competition, Quebec sent a team to Goderich. This inspired the most prestigious pee-wee tournament in the world today

Referee in the land of kangaroos
A graduate of the University of Waterloo, Scott has worked for an insurance company in Sydney for about 30 years. Despite Australia having thirty arenas and only a few thousand hockey players of all ages, the Ontarians did not stop refereeing.

As of 2019, Australia has sent an all-star pee-wee team to Quebec. Geoffrey Scott took action with them as a referee, but they were short-circuited by infection. Last year, he decided to contact the general director, Patrick Dohm, and Pierre-Olivier Bouchard, the umpire in charge of the pee-wee tournament, directly.

Last year, Bouchard initially wanted to test her new referee with just two matches. After five minutes, it was already clear that he was a truly international referee. I didn't have any other matches to give him, but if he came back this year, I told him I would have several.
A Super Bowl in Quebec
The adopted Australian unhesitatingly took the plane back to Quebec, where his fellow umpires once again welcomed him with open arms. Among them was former radio host Danny Bowlin, who invited Scott to his Super Bowl party Sunday evening after his sophomore year as an umpire.
This is another great proof that the pee-wee hockey tournament is magical. Me, I'm a boy from Charlesbourg, and last year I refereed a match between South Korea and Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu with a boy from Australia.

As for Jeffrey Scott, he plans to pursue planet discovery through arbitration. However, he assures himself that this year won't be his last at the Quebec tournament. I came last year and I'm back this year because it's a great tournament in a beautiful arena, in a beautiful city with great hockey fans.
