"Followers' fans have crossed the line"

“Followers’ fans have crossed the line”

Ryan Ellis was booed during the player’s pre-season introduction in Philadelphia on Thursday night.

This reaction from Flyers fans saddens our collaborator Mathieu Perreault. “They are passionate fans, but they have gone too far. I understand their frustration, but it’s not Ellis’ fault that he was injured. You can’t do that,” the former Canadian striker said on “La Poche bleue le midi” on Friday. Watch his full column in the video above.

Ellis is expected to miss the entire season due to the pelvic injury that deprived him of the vast majority of the 2021-2022 season.

The 31-year-old defender has played just four games for the Flyers, who he acquired from the Nashville Predators on July 17, 2021 against defender Philip Myers and forward Nolan Patrick.

He’s a competitor. Perrault defended himself. “He definitely likes to play.”

Fortunately for the mood of the Flyers fans, their favorites beat the New Jersey Devils 5-2. Watch the highlights of the game here:
