Demand for transactional website creation and digital marketing has been on the rise over the past year, while demand for video production and print marketing has seen a sharp decline.

This is what was revealed by statistics from the marketing agency helloDarwin, which specializes in marketing and technology, which analyzed 13,000 projects that used its services during the past 12 months.

The company's co-founder, Jeff Carrier, points out in an interview on the “À vosaffaires” program that companies' consumption habits have changed.

“These are no longer large projects like we used to see when we invested 30, 40, or even 50 thousand dollars in a website. Now, companies will accommodate more small projects as much as possible, and then they will outsource what they cannot do.

“For example, they will create a new website and they will use AI to create part of the website and to create content, and then the more technical part that they can't do, that's what they'll go to subcontract. We have a huge increase in these small projects.”

In 2023, electronic transaction sites saw a 71% increase in demand compared to 2022, while the increase in digital marketing reached 61%.

“Post-pandemic, companies realized they needed to really digitize and digitize themselves to reach consumers,” Mr. Carrier explains.

Demand for print marketing (-70%) and video production (-28%) has declined significantly.

“These things are in decline because of the tools available on the web,” he continues.
