Énergie Cardio bankruptcy: subscribers of some centers will be able to get their money back

Énergie Cardio subscribers who lost access to their training center due to the bankruptcy announced last February will be able to receive a refund for the services they were denied when their gym was closed.

The Consumer Protection Office announced this on Thursday, indicating that a compensation file would be opened for every company that closed its doors or declared bankruptcy.

It was explained: “It is important to note that people subscribing to a center that remains open cannot apply for compensation, as they can continue to attend their gym.”

The enterprises in question are separate companies affiliated with the parent company or franchisees.

Its subscribers can benefit from this reimbursement since these training centers obtained clearance from the office and provided a deposit of $25,000 that was required to reimburse clients.

Therefore, affected persons will be able to refer to the office's website in the compensation section for payment details.

Recall that Energy Cardio placed itself under the protection of the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Code at the end of January due to a debt of $8.2 million, the Journal de Montreal has learned.
