A dream day for a homeless couple

A dream day for a homeless couple

Limousine, restaurant and hotel: a homeless couple manages to forget the hard life of homelessness for a day and end the year in style.

Julie and Joel have been homeless for several years. On Friday, they had a dream day and managed to get pampered.

A limousine picked them up from the homeless shelter so they could have a nice day. “I am really speechless, I didn’t expect this,” Julie Richard explained. According to the schedule, hairdresser, lunch and dinner in the restaurant.

“They’ll go shopping, and then they’ll have dinner at Pavillon Noir, and sleep at the hotel,” confirmed Nancy Foster, general manager of Canadian Tire in La Baie.

A Canadian Tire manager in La Baie raised $500 to pamper them, but the help of several partners made the day possible.

Homelessness is the cause that touches her, she wanted to return the favor. “We often walk down the street and ignore them, but they are people like us. We should stop and talk to them, ask them how they are doing,” said the manager.

They won’t forget this experience, and they want to raise awareness about homelessness, because this day was just an arc in a much less comfortable everyday life.
