(AOF) – Following the North Carolina auction, TotalEnergies has been declared the winner by the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management of the OCS-A 0545 Maritime Offer in the United States. The call for tenders to build a marine wind farm in Carolina Long Bay was won by Total Energies for $ 160 million.
Located at a maximum distance of 37 kilometers from the coast, the offer covers an area of 222 square kilometers, generating more than 1 GW of capacity enough to provide electricity to more than 300,000 US households. The plan aims to be implemented by 2030.
The announcement follows the offer to build a 3 GW wind farm in New York and New Jersey in February 2022.
