British cosmetics brand The Body Shop is to enter receivership in the United Kingdom, threatening a significant number of jobs and outlets in the country. Sky News.
According to the channel, the group “Preparing name” A restoration specialist “Management of Insolvency Proceedings for its UK Operations”, The Body Shop has around 200 stores. According to an inside source quoted by Sky News, the process will not concern the group's global network. Contacted by AFP, the group declined to comment on the report.
The British brand was sold by its Brazilian owner Natura Cosméticos to German investment fund Aurelius at the end of 2023. The size of the transaction was much lower than the 1 billion euros the Brazilian paid when it bought the group from French conglomerate L'Oréal in 2017.
