A happy ending to the disappearance of a 17-year-old in 2015. The teen, now 25, was found unresponsive outside a church Saturday in Houston, Texas, CNN reports.
Rudolph “Rudy” Farias IV has been missing since March 6, 2015. It was the 911 call that led to his discovery.
The American was outside the place of worship. He was unconscious and covered in bruises and cuts, Rudy’s mother told CNN affiliate KTRK. She believes he was brutally assaulted.
“After eight long years, Rudy has been found,” the Texas Missing Persons Center wrote on Twitter. Please continue to keep his family in your prayers while Rudy recovers in the hospital.
On March 6, 2015, Rudy was walking his dogs in northwest Houston when he went missing, CNN affiliate KHOU reports. His dogs had come home, but never the teen’s.
Also according to what Rudy’s mom told KTRK, her son only emits a few words at a time and settles back into the fetal position. She thinks it will take a long time for her recovery. He is still in the hospital.
But where was Rudy for eight years? Not clear, according to CNN. The mystery continues at the moment.
Nearly 360,000 reports of missing children were reported to the FBI in 2022, according to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. However, this number may include duplicate notices of disappearances.
