Sunday, Max Verstappen won the Canadian Grand Prix, the eighth stage of the Formula 1 World Championship, for the second year in a row.
This victory, the 41st of his career, equaled the record of Brazilian legend Ayrton Senna. It is also the 100th win for the Red Bull team since arriving in F1.
From pole position, the Red Bull driver led the 70-lap race from start to finish, without really feeling anxious.
He was ahead of Fernando Alonso who was driving his Aston Martin, and had started alongside him on the front row on the starting line. The Spaniard reached the podium for the seventh time in eight events this season.
Three champions on the podium
Briton Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) accompanied them on the podium. This meeting of the three world champions on the podium is the second of its kind this year after the Australian Grand Prix.
Charles Leclerc (Ferrari), Carlos Sainz (Ferrari), Sergio Perez (Red Bull), Alex Albon (Williams), Esteban Ocon (Albin), in order.
Quebecer Lance Stroll, Alonso’s teammate, finished his career in ninth place, allowing him to add two points to his harvest in 2023.
