Sam Olivier and Noah Reinhart scored twice, and the Drummondville Voltigeurs put an end to the Sherbrooke Phoenix's comeback hopes with a 6-1 Game 6 win on Sunday.
The Phoenix team maintained its dream of winning the fourth and fifth duels, after escaping the first three.
The picture of the Final Four within the QMJHL is now complete: in the East, the Voltigeurs will face the Victoriaville Tigres in a battle in the Centre-du-Québec region, while in the West, the Drakkar of Baie-Comeau will do battle with the Cape Breton Eagles.
By scoring his club's sixth goal eight minutes from time, former Phoenix member Ethan Gauthier earned at least one point for the tenth straight game.
The Voltigeurs were relentless after Olivier Dubois scored for Sherbrooke at 3:57 in the first period.
Drummondville then scored twice in each period.
Reinhart, Marc-Olivier Baudry and Kassim Godet each registered two assists.
Winning goalkeeper Riley Mercer made 23 saves, four fewer than Jacob Brochu.
Gauthier's goal was his 10th since the start of qualifying – tied for second with Drakkar's Justin Poirier. Tigres player Maxime Bellerin scored 11 goals.
