Montrejo: The Light Revealed in Espace André Marquerie

Until October 19, come and discover the works of two Montreal stained glass artists at Espace André Marquerie: Marilyn and Francisco.

It is the Mont-Royal stained glass workshop that is in full light during this exhibition month. It is not for nothing that it is called the revealed light.

The light that surrounds us ceaselessly day after day, and which we rarely perceive, is abundant in the human approach. Whether in daily, scientific, strategic, health, artistic or spiritual terms, the aspects of light are multiple. By shaping the glass into stained glass, light is approached from an artistic angle through the exposed colors changing over the hours, and spiritually through the dazzle it exerts and the serenity it produces. Each stained glass window, through the composition of the many colors intersected by the light, acts on the space that welcomes it and on our perception like a vibrating symphony. This is where joy can be found.

Portrait of artists

For 34 years for Marilyn and 16 years for Francisco, creating, restoring and protecting stained glass windows has been their path of light.
Creativity: Designing and analyzing space, clarity, and color range so that the work fits the space that welcomes it and speaks closely to the people who want it.
Restoration: Love, look at and respect old work, and restore its integrity by rediscovering the nods of earlier glassmakers
Protection: Because the stained glass window made of glass and lead remains fragile, it is essential to protect these works so that their beauty can continue to enlighten us.
