Access to the account, which allows transfers to be processed and payments made, remained difficult on Saturday morning.

Some customers reported problems with the service to TVA Nouvelles.

“Accessing BLCDirect this morning after another update last night did not work and I have not received my salary since September 25,” one netizen said.

“Everything was not settled at Laurentienne, and automatic debts were not entered,” laments one consumer.

The Montreal-based financial institution took stock of its Facebook page early Saturday morning, emphasizing its “sincere apologies.”

“Due to high traffic volume, our online banking platform, BLCDirect, may be slow or experience service outages. It is possible that some balances and transactions have not yet been fully updated, but will be as soon as possible.”

“What caused this situation last weekend was an update to the bank’s computer system, which unfortunately caused a delay in transactions and resulted in the bank’s system not being open to customers for approximately four days,” he explained on Friday.

We confirm that the transactions that took place during the outage can be processed.

Laurentian Bank is promising to compensate some customers affected by the outage.

“Any non-sufficient finance charges, late payment fees or interest incurred as a result of this outage will be refunded. If a customer’s credit score has been negatively affected by the outage in recent days, we invite them to contact us so we can support them in rectifying the situation.”
