In Morlaix, a music festival without music in public Monday, June 21 – Morlaix

The Fête de la musique in Morlaix promises to be a bit sad and secretive this year, far from the usual spontaneity where singers and musicians, both professional and amateur, come to settle on a street corner or on the balcony to sing.

Indeed, due to the instructions of the provinces “too late and restricted, the municipality of Morlaix has decided not to organize anything” on the occasion of the music festival, on Monday, June 21, in the public space of Morlaix. This is despite the lifting of the curfew that will come into effect the day before.

“It is a shift for the public authorities that initially announced that the music festival could take place, before, to announce the opposite, on the afternoon of Thursday, June 17,” explained Philip Yusin, the mayor’s chief of staff on Friday. Morlaix Jean Paul Vermot.

Licensed bar and restaurant for indoor parties

Under the protocol issued by the prefecture, “Improvised concerts of musicians, especially amateurs, will not be permitted on public roads until gatherings of more than ten people are not set up.”

On the other hand, unlike last year, concerts in bars and restaurants “will be licensed in accordance with the health protocol of hotels, cafes and restaurants, ensuring that they do not lead to crowding in the vicinity of establishments.”

The city council, which is not authorized to do so, said, “The organizers of this type of special event are invited to head to the sub-prefecture to obtain the licenses.”
