NHL: Jets hold to defeat Senators 4-3 before arriving in Montreal

Nikolai Eilers scored a goal and two assists in the Winnipeg Jets’ 4-3 victory over the Ottawa Senators on Sunday at the Canadian Tire Center.

Pierre-Luc Dubois provided a goal and assist, as did Kyle Connor and Paul Stastney, while Conor Helbeck saved 31 balls.

However, Gates could have suffered a heavy loss despite the winning score, as quarterback Mark Shefley was forced out of the match.

Shifley sustained an upper body injury in the second half, and the Manitoba team later declared the game over. Hellebuyck was baffled, and the replay confirmed the correctness of the Ottawa captain’s goal.

Tkachuk finished his match with three points, and his partner Josh Norris scored a goal and an assist.

In his second start in the NHL, Mads Sogaard gave up four times in 25 shots.
