The La Fontaine Tunnel closed again towards Montreal over the weekend

The Department of Transportation recommends that road users avoid the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel, due to its closure in the direction of Montreal, over the weekend.

Interstate 25 northbound between Exit 90 and Est Notre Dame, will be closed from 12:30 a.m. on Saturday until 5 a.m. on Monday.

A detour is made via Westbound Highway 20 and the Jacques-Cartier Bridge. For heavy goods vehicles, they can join Notre Dame via Pie-IX and Sherbrooke Street, according to Mobilité Montréal, which doesn’t rule out the risk of congestion.

Access to El Sharon remains open by making a detour on the A-25 southbound and Route 132 westbound.

In Boucherville, near the junction of Interstates 20 and 30, the A-20 West Service Route is expected to be closed from 10:30 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. This means closing the slopes to Vaudrell-Dorion and Montreal.

In Terrebonne, on Highway 6640 in both directions, traffic will be in the opposite direction on West Road, near the flyover on Route 137, from Friday 10 p.m. to Monday 4 a.m.

In downtown Montreal, Saint-Jacques Street between Mansfield Street and Robert-Bourassa Street will be closed from Friday 7 p.m. to Sunday 7 p.m.
