WWE SmackDown results for March 24, 2023

The commentators are Michael Cole and Wade Barrett.

Tonight is WWE SmackDown, the blue show kicks off a video of what happened last week. Then the SmackDown intro plays and the commentators welcome us. Cody Rhodes comes into the first game of the evening.

Singles match

Cody Rhodes vs. Ludwig Kaiser

During the match, Paul Heyman and then Solo Sekua took to the stage to watch the match.

At the end of the match, Cody Rhodes would continue with CodyCutter and then Cross Rhodes on Ludwig Kaiser for the pinfall victory.

Winner: Cody Rhodes

After the match, Paul Heyman and Solo Sekua entered the ring. Heyman says he will repeat announcing Cody Rhodes the winner. The winner and still… a contender for the undisputed WWE/Universal Title held by Roman Reigns: Cody Rhodes! Paul Heyman announced that Cody Rhodes will be taking on Solo Sekoa on Monday on RAW and Roman Reigns will be on SmackDown next week for one last match before WrestleMania. Cody Rhodes responds by hitting Seth Rollins with a half-body. Roman Reign may be undefeated, but he’s not ready. Solo Sikoa would find out he wasn’t ready in RAW and Roman Reigns would tell himself the same thing at WrestleMania.

– The commentators announced that John Cena vs. Austin Theory from WrestleMania 39 will be the first match of the first night.

Charlotte Flair enters and then takes a microphone. The SmackDown champ says we’re eight days away from WrestleMania. She was a 14-time world champion. Work is not contracted on the basis of fear, it is built on respect. She’s not afraid of Rhea Ripley, she respects her. Charlotte is only afraid of her own potential.

Charlotte Flair loves her father and will never apologize for contributing to the biggest legacy in sports entertainment.

– Rey Mysterio, his wife and daughter entered the crowd.

– Piff The Magic Dragon is in the crowd.

Singles match

Rey Mysterio vs Los Angeles Knight

During the match, Dominik Mysterio’s music played and he reached ringside. Meanwhile, L.A. Knight managed to knock Rey Mysterio out of the corner.

At the end of the match, Dominic Mysterio assists the LA Knight who takes advantage of the opportunity to outflank Rey Mysterio for the win.

Winner: L.A. Knight

After the match, Dominik Mysterio takes a microphone and enters the ring to confront Rey Mysterio. He asks her if he will finally get to be a man and face her at WrestleMania. Rey Mysterio refuses again and leaves the ring. Dominic asks his mother in the crowd what it feels like to marry a loser. He approaches his family and asks his mother if she knew she married the good-for-nothing. But her mother is no better than Ray. It’s too stupid to understand. Dominic’s sister gets up and then his mother takes the microphone and wants to talk to her, but Dominic snatches the microphone from her and tells her to shut up!

Rey Mysterio approaches and sends his son to Earth. He told her that he had pushed her to do so. He does not respect his mother. Want a match at WrestleMania? Rey Mysterio accepts!

– Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez play in the ring in their next match.

tag team match

Lacey Evans and Xia Li vs. Schutsi and Natalya

At the end of the match, Natalya makes Xia Li submit thanks to her thrower.

Winners: Natalya and Shotzi – Added to WrestleMania’s Fatal 4-Way

– After the match, Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez stepped onto the ring apron…but Ronda Rousey’s songs arrived with Shayna Baszler on stage. Shayna Baszler says everyone in the ring has a reason to get revenge on them… maybe tonight? You ask Ronda Rousey how many times have they actually sold out this arena and even Las Vegas? They don’t deserve it tonight. Chyna Baszler agrees and concludes by saying she has been added to the WrestleMania match.

Drew McIntyre enters. Adam Pearce is in the ring signing the contract. Sheamus hits music and arrives with Butch as well as Ridge Holland. Sheamus says everyone is asking him why he’s mad at McIntyre. He worked for 15 years with a specific goal, then his best friend came along and stole that goal, a friend who left him sleeping on his couch, and brought him to his first job training. Drew McIntyre says last week that they were in that episode to remind everyone why they are the most physical in the business. After the game, they were supposed to go to the party, but Sheamus can’t separate the character from the action.

Drew McIntyre knows he can defeat Gunter. On the other hand, history shows that Sheamus can’t do that. Adam Pearce tells them to calm down, he needs their signature. McIntyre and Sheamus signed the contract and then Gunter arrived. Adam Pearce asks why is he in a match where he can lose his title without getting involved in a pinfall? Gunther signs the contract and then takes a microphone. Champion says he’ll beat McIntyre, and he’ll beat Sheamus. If necessary, he will defeat Ridge Holland and … Butch asks why he looks at him that way, and then the latter attacks Gunter! Butch hangs up and demands a match for Gunter right away!

Drew McIntyre plays in the ring in the next match.

Singles match

Gunther vs. Butch (with Sheamus and Ridge Holland)

At the end of the match, Drew McIntyre fights with Sheamus and Ridge Holland at ringside. In the ring, Gunter blocks a fist from Butch and lands him one-on-one for the victory.

Winner: Gunter

After the match, Sheamus enters the ring and confronts Gunther. Drew McIntyre comes out of nowhere and lands a Claymore kick on Gunter!

– Backstage, the Street Profits taunt their opponents at WrestleMania. They are joined by Braun Strowman and Ricochet who tells them that they will show what they can do at WrestleMania.

– Next week on the SmackDown Before WrestleMania: Cody Rhodes vs. Roman Reigns Head-to-Head – Drew McIntyre, Seamus Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci – Andre the Giant battle royal.

– Kevin Owens in the ring at KO Show. He asks us to welcome his brother Sami Zain! The latter walks in and wants to talk about WrestleMania. They are on their way to winning the WWE tag team titles together and at WrestleMania. WrestleMania is very different this year. Kevin Owens says he has a thing for Sami Zayn. The latter already had an honorary Uce jersey, but needed a new one. Kevin Owens pulls off a KO-Mania jersey, but it’s not KO-Mania. The best player in WWE over the past 12 months is Sami Zayn.
