Windows 11 23H2 Microsoft is preparing a small update while waiting for Windows 12

Windows 11 is now the star of Microsoft’s catalog. The operating system benefits from cumulative updates, “real time” updates, and feature updates.

Normally, if the giant follows its traditional schedule, we’re on track to welcome a new feature update in a few months, Windows 11 23H2. The appointment, as the name implies, is scheduled for the second half of this year. However, Microsoft is discreet about the content. This build is based on Windows 11 22H2 and has its own activation package, KB5027397. This approach strongly suggests that Windows 11 23H2 will be a small “update”. It must be installed quickly to satisfy system administrators but in exchange for content that is poor in important novelty.

We’ll have to wait until the second half of 2024 to hope for a “major” development for Windows. It is possible that this is Windows 12 but again nothing has been confirmed.

Microsoft made the decision to go back to a three-year release cycle. Knowing that Windows 11 was officially released on October 5, 2021, Windows 12 may be released on October 2024. Various rumors talk about hardware requirements very close to Windows 11 leaving hundreds of millions of Windows 10 PCs out of the blue. Windows 11 is at a dead end in potential development.
