New Delhi: WhatsApp, which is owned by Meta, is said to be testing the possibility of letting users migrate chats from their Android device to the iPhone.

According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is working on an “import chat history” feature that will allow Android users to transfer their chats to an iPhone.

The feature was spotted in development in the latest beta version of WhatsApp for iOS v22.2.74. Currently, it is not available to everyone at the moment. It looks like WhatsApp will rely on an app called Move to iOS to make the migration possible.

Currently, the iOS chat transfer feature has been available to Samsung and Google Pixel devices since last October. Users can also migrate chats from iOS to Android 12 devices out of the box.

It is also said that WhatsApp is bringing a new global voice notes player to the iOS beta that will allow users to listen to a voicemail message even when switching to another chat.

The voice note that users listen to when they make a backup or open another conversation will not be ignored.

This feature has been released for select iOS beta testers, including WhatsApp Business beta.
