Giant Walmart Will Build Quebec’s First $100 Million Fulfillment Center In Vaudreuil-Dorion, It Has Been Learned Montreal Magazine first.
Walmart Canada spokesman Steve Azoulay said Walmart Canada has neither requested nor received any form of government funding yet for its new processing center in Vaudrell-Durion, Quebec.
This new “high-tech sorting capacity” center located in the heart of Monterey will have an area of approximately 44,456 square metres.2.
More than 225 job opportunities will be created, in addition to the labor needed to build it.
The multinational plans to use this new center as a hub for its clients here and in the Atlantic counties. It is scheduled to open in 2024. It will be able to ship more than 20 million pieces a year.
With this new strategic building, Walmart hopes to be able to provide better products and improve the customer experience in store and online by providing them with faster service.
“We know this is a difficult time for our customers. This is why we are proud to announce a major investment,” said JP Suarez, senior vice president, managing director and regional CEO, Walmart International.
This year, Walmart plans to renovate 17 stores in Quebec. Across Canada, investments will reach $1 billion.
In Quebec, Walmart has 71 stores and employs 14,500 workers. In one year, the company purchased $3.2 billion worth of products from 500 Quebec suppliers.
