The video, which appeared online on October 21, shows how a McDonald’s McRib is being prepared disgusts customers and sparks outrage online.
The footage shared this week on Twitter shocked thousands of customers who have since sworn to never eat the infamous McRib burger again.
The pictures show the product “ribs” still frozen in blocks lined up in strips on the shelves.
Once thawed, the ribs shaped product slices shaped upstream into the eponymous meat shape sink into the brown sauce.
It is still unclear in which branch the video was shot, but it has been suggested that most branches follow the same process.
The person who uploaded the video online, which has been viewed more than 1.2 million times, said that McCripe’s ribs could hardly be considered food.
Out of 3,000 comments, many shared an opinion.
“I just vomited in my mouth. Just a little bit,” the person was indignant.
Another person’s description: “It looks like the frying sponge was soaked in BBQ sauce.”
On October 24, McDonald’s announced the return of the famous McRib hamburger, confirming that it was its farewell tour.
When McDonald’s was asked to comment on the controversy, the New York Post contacted McDonald’s about the video, but they have yet to respond.
Curiously, this time last year, a similar controversy targeted McRib after viewing a video shared on TikTok 1.3 million times.
