Ukraine guarantees "life and safety" to surrendered Russian soldiers

Ukraine guarantees “life and safety” to surrendered Russian soldiers

Ukraine’s Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said on Friday that Ukraine guarantees “life and safety” to Russian soldiers who surrender, while Kyiv’s forces are advancing in the south and east of the country.

“We guarantee life, security and justice to all who will immediately stop fighting,” the minister said in Russian in a video address to the Moscow army, and also pledged to “prosecute those who issued criminal orders.”

“You can still save Russia from tragedy and the Russian army from humiliation” or “remain in memory as thieves, rapists and murderers,” he added.

By sending his army to invade Ukraine, the Kremlin “deceived you and betrayed you”, and Mr. Reznikov accused again.

“Moscow does not like the truth. It is easier for them to pretend that you died a hero fighting NATO forces. It is true that NATO countries provide us with weapons. But it is the Ukrainian soldiers who fight you with these weapons.

“Ukrainians do not need Russian land, our land is enough for us. And we will take them all back,” he believed again.

Since September, the Ukrainian army has launched a breakthrough counterattack on the Russian-occupied lands that captured thousands of square kilometers in the east and south of the country.
