UK Online Banking moves 4-day weekly

Atom Bank claims to be “the largest company to launch a four-day week in the UK”.

Atom Bank, a British online bank, announced on Tuesday that it was launching a four-day week without pay cuts for all its employees, saying it wanted to increase employee productivity as well as its productivity.

This epidemic has led many companies to reconsider their operating systems, reducing teleworking and availability.

At the end of 2020, food company Unilever’s New Zealand subsidiary, for example, launched a four-day weekly trial.

Atom Bank claims to be “the largest company to launch a four-day week in the UK”.

Give employees time

The new work system was launched on November 1 and was accepted by a majority of 430 employees, reducing their weekly working hours from 37.5 hours to 34 hours for the same total pay.

Covit-19 says Atom Bank “wants to change the way we live and work forever”, saying it “wants to reconsider the nature of work to take into account the length of working life, the positive impact of technology and the flexibility of work”.

The bank says it will operate seven days a week, “seriously examines” the impact of the four days a week, and confirms that the company “does not pose any risk to customer service or operations.”

Mark Mullen, the bank’s chief executive, said in a statement that changing work habits during epidemics “can do a lot of work just as efficiently and effectively as it does from the office.”

“We believe it’s time for the next evolution in the world of work.”
