Samsung is said to be considering discontinuing the stable release of One UI 4 (Android 12) for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 due to an increase in customer complaints just days after the update was released.

Some South Korean users have taken to the Samsung Community Forum to report various issues with their devices since installing One UI 4. According to one of the complaints, the update blocked Samsung foldable devices.

In some cases, the phone entered recovery mode after an update and restarting does not seem to fix the problem. In other cases, the update appears to have caused additional issues like screen flickering, dark mode, and poor performance.

Other users have also reported that the Dual Messenger feature doesn’t work with some apps. Some have complained that screenshots are not working and images disappear from gallery.

The problem also extends to several video apps like Netflix and YouTube, which are said to have stopped working on some of Samsung’s best Android phones. Some Galaxy Z Fold 3 screens are apparently stuck at 60Hz refresh rate.

The issues aren’t limited to South Korea, as users in other regions also appear to be experiencing similar issues, according to SamMobile. Samsung was unable to immediately respond to Android Central’s request for comment.

However, according to SamMobile, the South Korean tech giant is considering suspending the rollout of the update until the patch is released.

The Samsung Community Moderator has confirmed that the company is working on a fix for some compatibility issues with Google Play (via SamMobile). These issues had previously forced Samsung to suspend the One UI 4 update.

The South Korean tech giant is currently reviewing the update to include a patch from Google aimed at addressing these compatibility issues.
