On the third day of Group A and B of the Arab Football Cup, four matches were scheduled for today: Syria – Mauritania, Tunisia – UAE, Oman – Bahrain and Qatar – Iraq. Today’s matches saw Tunisia, the United Arab Emirates and the Sultanate of Oman obtain their tickets to the quarter-finals of this competition. Tunisia is recovering, the happy Emirates is defeated
After Tunisia defeated everyone’s surprise the day before against Syria (2-0), it had to defeat the United Arab Emirates to ensure its qualification to the next round. The Carthage Eagles fought this challenge by winning (1-0) over the Emirates, thanks to Youssef Msakni’s goal. Thanks to this victory, the Tunisians took the lead in Group B ahead of their Al-Masai rival, who also qualified for the next round, despite their defeat after Syria’s defeat at the same time against Mauritania (1-2).
Qatar received 3/3 and Oman also in the next round
Three matches and three victories for Qatar, which will be above Group A, the host country beat Iraq (3-0) today, thus signing a clear round so far, which made it possible to easily qualify for the quarter-finals- finals. For its part, Oman will also join the next round of the competition after its 3-0 victory over Bahrain in the second-place duel.
The first two matches of the quarter-finals are now known
At the end of today’s results, the first two matches of the quarter-finals of this edition of the Arab Cup are now known: Qatar, the first in Group A, will face the second United Arab Emirates in Group B, while Tunisia is the first. In Group B, he will face Oman, second place in Group A.
